2018 Women in Non Traditional Trades Scholarship
In the early days of the Network, the committee helped establish the WNH Scholarship as a lasting legacy of the Network, which provided a $500 to a second or later year female TAFE student in a non-traditional area of employment. Since this time the Scholarship Program has continued to grow and develop. Most recently expanding to include applicants from outside the TAFE community. This scholarship is completely funded through financial membership fees from the Network.
Each year we are fortunate enough to offer a scholarship to a deserving Hunter woman studying in the field of non-traditional trade. That is, a trade in which women have not traditionally worked or trained in.
In 2017 our luncheon was generously supported by Beyond Bank (Kylie Daniels pictured above with our 2017 winner Danielle Fordham and Network President Nada).
We encourage and support these hard-working young woman breaking into a field of career surrounded by men often with few or no women in the industry to mentor or support them on their journey.
